NOTES FROM THE
SPACE: 1999
CHRONOLOGY
On page 2 of the story, Carter remarks that the unconscious
woman they've rescued from the derelict spacecraft, "...looked
like a beautiful chick but that seems impossible in outer
space," to which Commander Koenig responds, "Improbable,
Alan...but never impossible!" This exchange may suggest that
this story takes place early in the wayward Moon's involuntary
trek across the cosmos, as the Alphans do encounter a number of
attractive, human-like females in the course of their journeys.

Mission Control".
| In panel 3 of page 1 of the story,
Moonbase Alpha is depicted as much larger on the Moon's
surface than it should be! It happens again on page 8. |

The alien Nuna is able to grasp the English language through
a telepathic ability she uses to scan Dr. Russell's mind.
Nuna has shape-shifting powers similar to the character of
Maya in Space: 1999's second season.
Nuna is from the planet Strygos.
On pages 9-10, Dr. Russell and Professor Bergman discover that Nuna
has no internal bone structure. Presumably, this is part of
what allows her to shape-shift.
Unanswered Questions
What explanation did Nuna give the Alphans for the damage on
her spacecraft? In the course of the story, the reader
learns it was part of her plan to lure the Alphans into a trap,
but she would have to give some kind of cover story for the
damage after her rescue.
Why does Nuna seemingly kill Karl before she impersonates
him with her shape-changing abilities, but does not kill Dr.
Russell (only knocks her unconscious in her room) while
taking on her form?
